It was a nippy morning as we returned to Stepney City Farm to complete the wildlife pond. We were met as usual by the friendly Alex. Khush and Isla used the mattock to loosen soil and then wheel it over to spread at the edge of the catchment area. Eva, Lieke, Simon and Stephen shovelled aquatic soil into wheelbarrows and spread it by the edge of the pond. Simon and Stephen filled in the ledges and Lieke and Eva filled the waterlogged area at the end of the pond. Later Isla and Khush joined in with the aquatic soil and soon we had used it all up. We then had a version of an Easter egg hunt, finding boulders from around the site and gathering them by the pond. Lieke and Stephen finished off putting a bale of hay into the pond and almost fell in trying unsuccessfully to balance rocks on the top, so thankfully Khush came to the rescue!

It was a chilly one for sure! Well done everyone, and well done Stephen especially for another great task-lead and report.
