Last night we had a post-storm sextet out to help out Roxane from Sustrans clear up a little green space they look after in Lower Sydenham.

We kicked off at The Bridge House with the biggest question: favourite band?? Some well thought out answers and excellent taste in music.

We then had quite a picturesque 3km run to the task, taking in some of the waterlink way. When we arrived we met Roxane who told us about the space and Sustrans’ involvement in gradually making it a safer and more pleasant place to walk through to the station. We had two tasks:

✂️ Louise and Zara got straight into chopping back some of the undergrowth which was spreading onto the paths.

🗑️ And the rest of us grabbed pickers and bags and were on the hunt for litter, often well hidden under the weeds.

We got a good stretch of the path cleared and pretty much the whole area cleared of litter! Nice one team 🤩

We took a couple of snaps to finish and did some jeffing (walking and running) to get home - raising and settling our pulses which is very good for the heart! 👌

See you next time✌️
