Seven GoodGym Yorkies met Sarah and Andy from Sustrans, along with Danny from Greener Greenways and a few other volunteers to remove some snowberry from the orbital cycle path. This involved some sharp tools including loppers, saws and bow saws much to Ellie and Barbara's delight. Lizzie did a grand job litter picking whilst Ellie avoided slipping down the steep bank by holding onto her loppers which were attached to some snowberry. Within an hour the snowberry had been removed and we moved along to remove some small trees using saws and bow saws. By 11.30 we were all done and had created lots of bags of rubbish and huge piles of cuttings which will create some lovely habitats for hedgehogs and other creatures. Sarah invited us back to St Nicks for coffee and cake so a few of us ran off in that direction in search of well-earned refreshment.
