Most people were able to make it to the right location for the mission ;) and so with litter pickers and bags we set off in two separate groups to clean up the areas around Castle Park. It was good to chat and catch up with GoodGymers old and new with a special mention for Magano who was joining us for her first GoodGym mission. There was discussion of work/life balance in the pandemic world, pets and obviously whether anyone had managed to get to the pub and take advantage of the recent changes to restrictions! Whilst it wasn't quite as messy as we feared it might be, there was evidence that some people who had been taking the chance to have a picnic in the park, hadn't cleaned up after themselves and we managed to fill three large bags of rubbish between us. As someone who lives in the area close I know I appreciate the park will be a little cleaner for the time-being, and hope others will be similarly pleased.

Litter blights our streets, parks and beaches and costs us millions of pounds to clear up every year. Keep Britain Tidy is here to inspire people to eliminate litter now and for future generations. This is about more than simply getting people to pick up litter. We aim to change behaviour permanently by spotlighting the problem daily and offering creative solutions. We work with people, businesses, local authorities and government to educate, innovate and inspire - improving the environment on everyone’s doorstep.
