12 Goodgyming Bellas arrived at this TH favourite on this fresh Friday night and the task did not take long :) SCF's own Siobhan was back from her short break in Wales ready to greet us through the gates ahead of the farm's reopening next week, and proceeded to split us into three teams ready to complete tonight's tasks.

Team AJSX (Aine, Jo, Sree and first-time goodgymer Xing) were set up with brooms and wheelbarrows and made light work of removing almost every inch of the hay from the area around the chickens, ferrets and rabbits. Any ordinary people would have been distracted by the cuteness of the ferrets but not this team... admirable focus until the deed was done.

Team CFI (Ceiling, Frankie and Isabelle) were given possibly the most difficult task of the evening, pulling up the weeds and long grass from the paths to allow visitors a clear route through the second part of the farm tour. Frankie and Isabelle used their bare hands to pull up the deepest roots, while Ceiling predictably managed to track down some pruning scissors / loppers and started chopping away. My favourite part of the evening was spotting Ceiling (TH's hero of the month in August with an almost unbelievable 23 good deeds) taking a very rare but very well deserved 30 second break to lay back and watch mere mortals such as myself struggling with full wheelbarrows :P

Team JLRT (Jessica, Leo, Richard and Tracey) were tasked with moving and turning over nutrient-rich compost in the far corner of the farm, ready to promote the best growth in the plants and veg all over the farm for animals and customers over the coming months. I think they all agreed that this was the perfect way to end a long week, relaxing in a steaming pile of... goodness.

Most of us finished the evening with the some drinks in the VIP section of the cafe, while listening to every celebrity's most controversial moments detailed by pop-culture enthusiast Jo. A perfect start to any weekend :P

Biggest shout out of the night of course goes to Xing who completed her first Goodgym task tonight, even though she toured all the way from Lewisham, she immediately became part of the Tower Hamlets family and is always most welcome :)

The wonderful Isabelle will be leading the Saturday 2pm afternoon gardening task at St Paul's Shadwell - (Sign up here). There will also be a plethora of fun activities the following week, as always, so keep an eye out and watch this space for details.
