Our monthly Richmond Furniture Scheme visit saw three brave Goodgymers turn up, despite less than favourable conditions. Pippa impressively ran 13kms from Chiswick to the task itself in Twickenham!

Once we had arrived, RFS’s Rob assigned us to clearing the old red furniture from the outside space. The furniture was used originally by the Whitton Social Club, previously based at the RFS building.

Through the help of the trusty moveable wooden sled, which was expertly operated by Sam, we set about moving the larger bits to the workshop area so that they could later be sorted out into what could be recycled and used again.

This task certainly provided an upper body workout as well as putting those hours of assembling jigsaw puzzles to good use, ensuring that all the furniture fitted into the assigned area!

Overall, all the pieces fitted and the job was well done!

Welcome to Richmond Furniture Scheme. Your local furniture recycling charity based in Twickenham, where you can find good value for money and quality second-hand furniture! Richmond Furniture Scheme is a small charitable organisation set up to help people in need by collecting donated furniture in good condition from the Richmond borough area and reusing it. A small charge is made to those people that are referred. But to ensure that all donated furniture is reused, and to help make the Scheme more self-sufficient, the Scheme is open to sell furniture to all people residing in the Richmond Borough.
