Three of our regular FoodCycling GoodGymers came along on an extremely wet Tuesday evening to help prepare a sumptuous meal. Unfortunately, once again there was limited food available, and the only fruit we had to work with was a few nets of organs which had been saved form the previous week. Undeterred Gill and Lucy peeled the oranges and segmented while Gill was formulating a plan for the dessert. Meanwhile Dani got busy helping the main course team, peeling and chopping veg for a delicious curry and then investigating possibilities for an Indian style baked rice to accompany. It was her first time making rice like this, but it was light, fluffy and tasted fabulous. Definitely one to do again Dani. We had 26 guests, so although we had catered for more, everyone had second helpings and many took some home with them too.

This is such a great way of saying supermarket produce from going to landfill, and any waste we did have went in the food composting bin, so a double whammy for the environment too.
