After three long months of only seeing each other via video conference screen, it was fantastic to get back out in the fresh air and look each other in the eye!

14 GoodGymers (in two groups) took part in our biggest group session in a really long time, helping out with Friends of Everton Park. While the weather was a bit grim, the views were fabulous and the mood was warm and celebratory.

Meeting John from Friends of Everton Park at the top corner of this much needed but under-resourced urban green space, we were excited to get back to some hard graft outdoors. The task was to remove dock weeds for the wild flower meadows, since these heavily seeding weeds are likely to take over if not kept in check. Gloved and socially-distanced, the first team got stuck in weeding.

A short while later the second group arrived, many who had run 3km from the city centre to the top of the park as a small group. I took the newbies off for a short fitness session including a BIG hill. They were so happy to be back together they barely even complained about this mini mountain! Dropping the new team off at the task, they took over weeding while the first group joined the fitness session.

It was great to be joined by Ruth from Live Well Liverpool. We'd love to have you join us again soon.

We've got lots of brilliant Community Missions about to be listed on the website for the next few weeks, so keep an eye out and get signed-up here.

It is so great to be getting out there and doing good with you all once more <3
