13 runners ran 5km to deliver leaflets for the Greenwich and Bexley Hospice!

It was a FREEEEEEEZING night in Greenwich yesterday, but as always we were out in full force running around the borough doing good!

A flyering task was on the cards, helping out one of our favourite local charities, the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice. They are holding a Christmas Carol Concert and a Santa's Grotto to help raise much needed funds to make sure they can continue to be there for local people when they need it most, especially at this time of year.

We welcomed a new runner to the group, the lovely Ellen, hope you had a good first run with us!

It was also a special day because after 2 and a half years of doing good deeds on and off, Christian finally made it to the big 5-0!!! NICE ONE BUDDY!

We did a quick little warm up to get the heart rate up, with some super high knees which did the trick I think! We split up into groups to hit different areas of Greenwich with our flyers. Ben took half, I took half and off we went!

My group set off towards the Ballast Quay kind of area whilst Ben's squad took to the most westerly part of Greenwich. Our group were out of leaflets within about 10 minutes so we extended the run a little bit and reconvened at 8pm! Ben's group seemed to have been recruited to try and get a car started. I bet the car owner couldn't believe his luck! Car doesn't start... and then a man in a cape turns up!??!?!?! All his prayers were answered... well they would have been if the car had started! Great effort though gang!

Getting to know Christian

It was time for a quiz based fitness session lovingly prepared by Christian's childhood friends and current flatmates Alex and Steve. Christian vs the world. It turns out we knew more about Christian than we thought, he ran a lot of laps last night... but all good training eh!! After 10 questions, many laps and even more squats we called it a night!!!

Well done guys and girls!!!

If anyone was interested in the Food Surplus community mission I was talking about last night, I have listed it here! If you want to get involved, please fill in the spreadsheet on the listing and indicate the time slot(s) you can do. Hope you can make it, no DBS necessary!

Great job last night team!!! See you next week for some bulb planting at Maze Hill!
