15 runners make an Olympic effort at the Interact garden

It was great to run back to the interact garden and see how it was progressing since our last visit. Our task this week was to fill a skip and weed the garden closest to the cottage ahead of the 25th anniversary garden party. Susie was on hand to tell us all about the good things interact do and how valuable the work we have done has been.

The skip filling was made more difficult as the skip had been placed at the wrong entrance, further from the garden waste to be cleared!

Obviously the Brilliant Goodgymers made short work of the extra distance and moved metal frames, logs and bags of weeds in no time! We moved so much we could have filled two skips! We moved a few more Kerb stones and weeded the grass borders just for good measure, then set off back for a mini Olympics!

After a race back with the speedy team adding in a loop before chasing the rest of us back, we met in the park for a few events the have appeared in the Olympics but are no longer contested. After a sports specific warm up we went for the *standing longjump *standing triple jump *and 60m sprints!

After some competitive performances all round we headed back for a stretch. We maybe a little late for Rio but things are looking promising for Tokyo 2020!

Don't forget to sign up for next week here Where we will be feeling even more Olympic!
