A FANTASTIC turnout tonight to a new group run task to help the fantastic charity Bloom Sheffield who are doing some fantastic work over at Meersbrook Allotments. Bloom are a community flower garden for women in Sheffield.

Here, you’ll find a safe space where you can learn new skills, make wonderful friends, and leave your worries at the gate. Come join us, and let’s grow good things together.

We welcomed new runner Emma to the group tonight who did fantastically well. Hope to see you back soon Emma!

5 of us ran from The Showroom, met another 2 en route and finally met with everyone else at the gates to Meersbrook allotments to meet Kendall who welcomed us, opened up and showed us to the fantastic space which is the Bloom allotment.

After hearing a bit about Bloom and all the fantastic work they are doing, we got straight to it, filling wheelbarrows with woodchip and spreading it on the paths around the beds. We were having barrows of laughs and fun and the uphill loaded barrow push was a great fitness session for all who took it on!

After about half an hour of solid effort from all, the allotment was looking like it had a new carpet and is ready for Blooms next session.

From the allotment gates we parted ways at the fork in the road with some running back in different directions and Michelle cycling off towards the sunset. Possibly even on a Raleigh bike!

For those brave souls that ran back to The Showroom, we all took part in a sensational session from Celine who was being recorded to complete her Leadership in Running & Fitness (LiRF) qualification. She did great and I am sure will be leading some brilliant sessions in the very near future!

Until next time, happy running :)
