Tonight we had a magnificient attendance of 13 people at the task to move 2 tonnes of sand at St Thomas Nursery.
Jonny, Morwenna and Emily ran to the task from The Good Intent to meet the rest of the group at the task.
Chela, Klaudia and Thea joined us for the first time and really got stuck in to the job in hand, which was to move the sand into the 'beach' for the children at the nursery to play in. The group quickly went into 2 groups, doing the 2 different bags. Spades, saucepans and shovels were used, with then the wheelbarrows emptying the sand onto the beach! The pun has a little nod to Rory Mcilroy's Masters triumph on Sunday evening.
In around 25 minutes we were done! There even was time to build a few sandcastles.
The task owner, Laura was delighted with our efforts :) After a group photo we all headed off, James, joining the other 3 runners for the run back to the Good Intent.
Wednesday 25th March

Thea Hope Beeston earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Thea completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Thea was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

We headed to St. Patrickās Church on the Dudley Road to meet Nancy, fellow Goodgymer and hosting the eveningās session. The warm welcome was especially appreciated by those of us caught in the horizontal rain and strong winds!
It was great to welcome Thea to Goodgym for the first time and together with Nancy, Amy, Miriam & myself, we all made for a great decluttering team! With a mix of sorting items to be donated, ordering things by theme, and labelling to some beautiful music playing (thanks to Nancy for DJ-ing!) we were all in the zone and soon made a lot of progress. We were all super happy with the corridor now clear and the items nicely boxed up in the porch with full inventories!
And not to forget⦠lots of recyclables, so we all did the big bin jobs together, cold and dark by this point, but with us all mucking in, it took just a few minutes! We canāt wait to return to St. Patrickās and continue helping with jobs like this and huge thanks again to Nancy for facilitating. š
