On a not very summary summer evening, our team of four volunteers once more took to cleaning the foodbank, overdue a clean since May. The team was smaller than usual due to people being on holidays, but we were able to get the job done thanks to some late signups.
Bob was super efficient as always, and he helped us get a head start on the day. A quick sweep followed by big mop job, we also got time for a vacuum in the seating area.
Em conjured a new mop bucket recipe that seemed to work, leaving the floors sparkling. And of course, there was time to catch some posed (and surprise) photos of us at work!
We finished the day with a jog home in the rain. It was a great way to work off some energy and celebrate a job well done. Thanks to everyone who volunteered!

Weed like to share with you last night's outing to Plum Hall. We made the courtyard and shared spaces safer and tidier for Colchester Borough Homes residents.
With one big rain shower out the way in the afternoon it was a warm night, so the drinks Cindy provided were very welcome. As was the return of Bob who had also made beautiful bird box!! A great surprise.
We Jeffed our way to Plum Hall crossing the ancient Roman Circus track on the way there and back.
The job, although familiar, was done with so much effort and fun. Bob set about the epicormic growth on the four big trees whilst Louise and Em weeded and Sophie and Frazer enjoyed grouting the paving slabs. A lot got done and we swept up before heading off.
Ella took some lovely photos and look out for Em's TikTok skills.
We didn't just pop grout, we went grout grout.
A big difference made.

A lovely evening of chatter and gardening in Pam's company is just what Wednesdays are about! Throw in some gooseberries, strawberries and rhubarb and you have a fruity reward for the watering, chopping and weeding!
I am not sure why I thought of this title but actually it may sum up the goodgym vibe - "Cause, as Meghan Trainor sings, every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top".
The allotment is one of the urban green oasis and even with a noisy strimmer and trains, we heard a wonderful wren song and found some weird insects (maybe a 10 Spot Ladbird) or the 30 days of wild that Helen completing.
Next time at the allotment we will clear the growth around the fruit trees we planted 5 years ago!
See you at the weekend...

On my 400th Good deed I thought a good quote would be ideal for this run report and Frances Hodgson Burnett (The Secret Garden) provided it!
Last night we ran and walked to Charles Smith House on a humid evening...stories and learning from the shindig came thick and fast as we met the hard working Cindy and got to weeding and sweeping. At the end of the task we were treated to a look at some stunning gardens at the back of the property. Just marvelous!
We will indeed be back here and at various Colchester Borough Homes sites soon.
A quick thank you to everyone who made those 400 good deeds fun, friendly and unique.
