A soggy start to a Sunday but we had a good bunch of brave souls ready to race for the title!
Come rain or shine, we'll be there!

a lovely morning in Nunsmoor Park today supporting Newcastle Parks alongside some Greening Wingrove volunteers.
we came, we saw, we olanted - daffodils, allium, snowdrops and more. The park is going to be beautiful in Spring.
An added bonus to a great morning was an extra pair of paws - Mitzi, an elderly lady who still enjoys a bit of fetch!

My tailwalking gig was scuppered by a persistent migraine but it meant i got to do a bit of course marshalling today and it was great to see our runners crossing the finish line!
A lot of wildlife to see as usual, a rabbit that was hare-ing about (sorry) -and a heron who was in a stand off with some territorial gulls! never a ... gull... moment at Mowbray!

Today we joined in with Greening Wingrove's Doing Day at the Bike Garden. we joined a few other volunteers in the garden and me and Aimee were assigned to cutting back the hedges with long and short handle shears - as well as a saw!. Preserving habitats but clearing off some space in the winter months. It was great to hear from Hannah in the garden about what they are going to do with the branches - a dead hedge! more habitat for the garden!
we'll be back again in 3 weeks time - hope to see you there!
