Thanks to everyone who made the festive meetup where good food and great conversation were consumed over a couple of hours at one of the city centre's popular party venues. A fairly quiet atmosphere apart from the salsa class which provided some great background entertainment but it was a tuesday night and at least meant everyone could hear each other.
Crackers were pulled, jokes were told, crowns were worn and plans for Christmas were told as well as reliving the Christmas from our childhoods and any traditions we have maintained.
Thanks to everyone for all their help in the community and hopefully GoodGym Derby will see you back in 2024.

Derby Report written by Rachel Carthy
Tonight (or it may be 'yesterday' by the time you read this...) four GoodGymers said 'hello, goodbye' and got their own 'ticket to ride' for a 'magical mystery tour' of Derby city centre. The fab four decided to 'come together' and 'carry that weight' of empty food packaging, food waste, torn up pages from a 'paperback writer' and general rubbish that hadn't been put in bins by the original owner. 'All together now' and 'with a little help from my friends' they responded to the call of 'help!' and collected four full bags of rubbish keeping the streets that little bit tidier....they didn't quite make it as far as 'Abbey Road' on this night though.
After a 'hard day's night' the group decided to 'let it be' and take 'the long and winding road' to 'get back' home before anyone could say 'here comes the sun' wondering how much more litter could be collected if there were 'eight days (in) a week.'
GoodGym volunteers have once again proved that 'all you need is love' to come together to make a difference in the community, find something that needs improving and say 'we can work it out.'
Thank you to Mandy, Lewis and Ashley for helping out with litter picking in the city centre this evening.

Derby Report written by Ashley
Ashley, Mandy, Pete and David met at the church on the spookiest day of the year to dig holes in the graveyard. Several trick-or-treaters warned us not to turn into zombies. Our task was to dig a hole for a new walnut tree. Ashley set about digging a hole, occasionally asking passers by if they'd like to help; there were no takers. Mandy and Pete tended to the nearby trees finally collecting a large bag of trimmings. Mandy, or Alice as she'll be known from now on, fell into a large rabbit hole that miraculously we'd all missed for over an hour.
