Improving the community garden for local residents.

Wednesday 12th November

Lydia Jackson completed 25 good deeds with GoodGym.
Lydia has already done 25 good deeds with GoodGym. Instead of doing anything else, they've used their run to go and help people that need their help; digging, lifting, scraping, clearing, planting and weeding. Stuff that makes this a better place to be.

Tonight, we met at Heart for a very soggy run through Beckett Park & were completely soaked when we got back! We then did a Christmas crafts activity for CAMHS mental health units. This is a task we did last year, making paper chains with jokes on for the young people to put up in their units. Helen & Christian cut the paper while the rest of us wrote Christmas jokes on them. I'll send them off this week.
Well done to Lydia who completed her 25th good deed tonight.
Welcome back to Helen who was a member before Covid & joined us back again after a long break this evening, we hope to see you again soon :)
Good work team!

After a last minute cancellation, Beth at Bedford Fields stepped up and held a session for us tonight. We really appreciate it, thank you!
After a moonlit run across the ridge, we got to work. Helen and Rachel moved soil into bags, Kat & I litter picked & Analise & Lydia cleared many, many leaves from the entrance. We finished off by clearing and bagging leaves from the street leading up to Bedford Fields.
Well done to Kat on her 90th mission & to Rachael on her 80th tonight. You two are amazing, thanks for all you do for GoodGym Leeds!

Tonight we had to split the group in two but we missed being part of a full group!
Helen, Amy, Alan & I did leafletting for Headingley Development Trust. We were promoting both Headingley Greengrocers & the Natural Foodstore. These are community run shops, funded by the Development Fund.
The rest of the group headed up to Rainbow Junction at All Hallows Church. We had a quick jog there, met Jules and Saul and then started working on digging up a hilly patch that they want to turn into tiered veggie plots. We were each armed with a mattock and got digging - it was a great work out. Lauren also had a go on the streamer to clear some of the longer grass - which she said gave her flash backs to earning her pocket money. Then thankfully the sunset reminded us that we should probably be heading again and we jogged back again.
We're looking forward to getting the gang back together next week, but thanks all for chipping in.
