Sunday 7th June

Leanne Nixon earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Leanne completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Leanne was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

*This weekend marked the UK's biggest volunteering weekend - the Big Help Out 2026 💪🏻 *
Us GoodGymmers did our bit for this and helped out at junior parkrun on this lovely sunny Sunday ☀️. The three of us - myself, Leanne and Ella met at Christchurch park, where we were greeted by the parkrun team who gave us our high vis to marshal on the course 🌳. There were lots of us volunteers this morning which was great to see and a whole lot of runners! Enjoyed marshalling & cheering them all on 🥳
Big shoutout to Ella for completing her first GoodGym mission! Welcome to the GoodGym family ❤

Summer has arrived just in time for our Thursday group run!
Myself, Leanne and Miles met at the waterfront to run uphill to the 31st/9th scout hut. And for the first time this year, we didn't need a base layer, hooray! ☀
We met Prakash at the task and the 4 of us got stuck into painting the outside fence, which we started last week. We got a lot done in an hour and it was nice to catch up with everyone after the rain put a dampener on our plans last week ☔️. Ending with a lovely warm run home downhill, as the sun was starting to set 🌅.
Thanks to Leanne for the photos this week!

Thursday evening has rolled around again and the 3 of us were back at the scout hut!
Myself, Miles and Leanne met at the waterfront ready to run and made our way up the ol' favourite Back Hamlet hill towards the scout hut.
Today's task involved painting again (which we now have great skills in from painting the hall!), but this time we were outside painting the fences surrounding the hut. An hour later and we had made a good dent in the fence and it was looking fresher than ever 👍🏻, with some of us covered in a few more paint splatters than others!
We then headed home, accompanied by a beautiful sunset on a lovely clear evening 🌅. We will be back to finish the fencing so why not join us on our next one?

Tonight's task agenda - the Midnight Walk! 🌌
The three of us met at the University and headed along the scenic waterfront on our route to Christchurch Park 🌳.
We picked up the leaflets and made our way around the perimeter of the park, posting leaflets to all the residents who live on the outskirts of the park to inform them about St Elizabeth Hospice's Midnight Walk in May. The walk is starting in the park so it was important for us to target those houses who may hear any noise from the event so they were aware 🗞️.
After a few dogs barking at doors & some smiles at Ring doorbells, we had successfully leafletted our way through the roads around the park ✅.
Great job team & congrats to Leanne on 10 good deeds ❤!
