Bromley’s Cator Park is looking especially beautiful today thanks not just to its dazzling displays of daffodils but also the litter picking efforts of GoodGymers Tony, Claire and Laura. After an hour’s work, chatting as they went, the grass and borders are free of rubbish – meaning less pollution, fewer hazards for wildlife, and a spick and span space for locals to enjoy.
Meanwhile, Linda helped the Friends of the Park to inspect the playground, paths and planted areas, listing any jobs needed over coming months. Watch out for future sessions if you want to help out: tasks could include installing a hedgehog house and rainwater butts, securing sapling stakes, filling holes in lawns, and building a wattle fence to protect piled logs providing a habitat for insects and other creatures.

Claire (She/her) earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Claire completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Claire was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Another busy session of digging, planting, mulching and fencing in Alexandra recreation ground today when GoodGym volunteers joined an energetic team to finish 44 metres of hedgerow, made up of 236 saplings. This was the last of a series of weekend efforts to finish an ambitious project initiated by the Friends of Cator Park and Alexandra, using grants and donations to add a green corridor of native species along an unused stretch beside the playing fields - benefitting wildlife, helping to protect our climate and improving a popular community space.
Best of all, we could see many of the young trees we planted earlier this year are already sprouting spring buds - looking happy in their new home!

Lovely to meet you Catherine. Did you check your email for a "mission accomplished registration"? If no luck, Mark can probably add you!

Nice work everyone! I’ve just added you Catherine but you should normally get a ‘mission accomplished’ email as Linda says where you can say you attended :)
