A fab session helping Mind SEL tidy their garden up before a big event next week.

Lisa had bought some lovely flowers for us to plant, so we filled planters with compost and quickly got them planted, before moving onto helping with litter picking, re-housing pesky snails, weeding and Mark even found time to give an over-growing rose bush a trim.

It was lovely to be joined by staff of Mind, one who even bought her dogs along, and despite the rain, we got a lot done and left feeling grateful GoodGym and Mind had given us the opportunity to get outdoors.

Beckenham Green had been mowed recently but the edging on the borders needed some finer work, so the Friends + GoodGymers took on the task of shearing the grass and removing weeds that had sprung up.

Between Ria, Leaonie and me we filled several black bags with weeds and grasses, giving the small hedges some breathing space and making the whole area look tidier 🧹

A very satisfying and motivational task down at Cator Park!

Marco, Amy, Angela, Linda and Ria spent time on a variety of tasks to help the park ready for its Green Flag assessment in May!

The willow arch was watered, bollards sanded and re-painted, a generator even got used and time was spent trying to remove the remnants of an arson attack from one of the benches.

Good gym once again showing many hands make light work and I think we’d all love to see the park get the flag it so deserves!
