Having a lark in the park

Sunday 14th April

Written by Southwark runner

On a beautiful morning, Paulin, Maria and Anna met the other parkrun volunteers to help put the weekly run on.

Paulin and Anna encouraged the children with cheers and high fives along the initial stretch of the course. Maria funnelled them over the line at the end.

Hopefully a lot of children were able let off some steam before heading back to school on Monday.

Sunday 31st March

Written by Sam Lefevre (he/him)

Paulin and Sam came out on Easter Sunday to assist with the parkrun juniors in Peckham Rye. They were on tail walking and finish token handing out respectively.

Only 27 kids came out on this windy and cold Sunday morning, but it could also be plenty were away. Most got a better finish position than they would normally which made them happy.

Mind the puddle 💦

Sunday 18th February

Written by Sam Lefevre (he/him)

The end of half term and an earlier storm meant only 35 kids showed up for this Junior parkrun, which turned out to be Sam's 50th time volunteering with them and got a special 50 parkrun badge. He was honoured with being an extra special marshall as there was a large puddle in the middle of the 2k course which he had to tell the runners.

Maria took on the role of timekeeping whilst Paulin was a barcode scanner.
