Out and about!

Friday 29th March

Written by Jonathan (he/him)

Lovely to be in Loris Gardens again.

Took a fork and went to work digging out a lot of the blue alkanet that had taken over some of the beds.

Also got to see a tawny mining bee (pictured) taking a break on one of the leaves. This is a solitary bee species that only emerges April to May time, so a good way of knowing that spring has sprung upon us.

A lovely time out in the Sun, capped off either side by a little run to try and get some fitness back!

Thursday 22nd February

A solo group run as I made myself down to the riverfront and collected trash from down by the rivertree.

Rich pickings tonight as I got many a plastic bottle washed up on the shore, meaning my small bin bag was quickly filled!

Finding the alka-net benefit!

Tuesday 13th February

Written by Jonathan (he/him)

In a classic display of hubris, I got the wrong date and time for a mission so had to think of one on the fly.

Luckily just around the corner was a regular haunt of ours Loris gardens and some pesky alkanets that needed some attention so off we went!

We also saw several marks of spring, with buds on the trees and a little bee queen escorted to safety off the path.

Thanks to all for coming! This week we are at Loris Gardens (promise!)

Weeding out the troublemakers

Tuesday 23rd January

Written by Jonathan (he/him)

A brisk Tuesday evening saw me head along to Loris Community Gardens at the last minute and take out some of the weeds that had started to creep over the site with the (slightly) warming temperatures!

After some successful digging I also went around the site and cleared some of the encroaching dirt off the paths to make them look a little nicer and be more accessible,

Two johnnies chilling in a park

Tuesday 5th September 2023

Written by Jonathan (he/him)

Suffice to say, dragging a bike out of the pond was not my usual idea of Tuesday entertainment but here we are.

We spent the time digging out persistent weeds that were ruining our beautiful path, as well as identifying where the path actually ends for on both sides.

Thanks to Biscuits for coming! See you next time!

Pati'oh its so clean!

Tuesday 22nd August 2023

Written by Jonathan (he/him)

Tuesday night we went back to clean up the path we started the prior week.

Though a bit of a grueling task (I now need a comfy kneepad to sit down on to weed) we managed to clear a lot of the path nearly up the front gate and around the pond.

Hopefully meaning the path is much tidier and nicer for people to enjoy!

Thanks to everyone for coming!
