โ€˜THE HOE MUST GO ONโ€™ ๐Ÿชด ๐ŸŒป ๐ŸŒผ

Saturday 19th March 2022

Written by Tim Dickson

What a glorious day for our first return to the Old English Gardens. We were greeted as always by Nicky who got the team to work straight away.

It was off to work we "hoe" for one group of goodgymers as their task was to gently turn over soil before covering the ground with fresh mulch. Our other team got busy cutting branches and sorting out the compost area.

The gardens look absolutely fabulous.

Thank you as always for all the hard work team, it was great to see you all. Oh, and thanks Johnny for the great PUNs, you was on fire ๐Ÿคฃ

WE HAD A LAVENDER TIME AT THE OLD ENGLISH GARDENS ๐ŸŒธ

Monday 23rd August 2021

Written by Tim Dickson

Tonight we had an awesome bunch goodgymers assemble outside Crooklog for our gardens task. Nicky and Tom were waiting for us so it was time to get warmed up and head on down. Nick led the walking group whilst Susan warmed up the runners and got them on their way. Thanks Caz for looking after the back runners.

On arrival at the gardens it was all about the Lavender, it was the best smelling task i've been on for a long time, our mission was to cut these back for another year.

I'd like to give a massive shout out to Julian who joined us from Greenwich this evening, we hope you enjoyed our company and welcome back to Sharine, haven't seen you at GG for a long time ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜ƒ

After a thorough pruning it was time to get the crew back to Bexley HQ. Well done on another task well done, you guys rock.

Another great turn out for Bexley Goodgym this evening. Tonights mission was to finish what we started at the Old English Gardens in Danson Park.

We met up at our old haunt Crooklog sports centre, starting off with introductions, chitchat and a leg stretcher we made our way over to the road and into the gardens where we met met by a very happy Nicky who had plenty for us to do.. The team soon got to work helping with the finishing touches that will hopefully lead the gardens to victory in the upcoming garden competition.

Thanks so much for coming out team, it was a warm one but its so good to see you all again so i'm frilled you all made it, you are all officially awesome.

Great morning spent helping out at the Old English Gardens. The team at the gardens need as much help as possible over the next few days as they make final preparations for next weeks completing. My job today was cutting in the edges of the displays and a bit of weeding. The weather, beautiful flowers and the conversation made for a perfect mission..........

Blooming Marvellous

What a great turnout for the English Gardens . Today the team were on a 'forget me knot mission' weeding and tidying up between the beautiful flowers.

The weather was also playing games with us, teasing with sun, cloud and a couple of times very light showers. The team at the gardens are so pleased to have us back as there's plenty that needs doing so watch this place for more morning missions.

Thanks everyone for a job well done, it was lovely chatting with you all, it was also great to meet one of our new members Laura she didn't waste anytime getting stuck in, i hope you enjoyed your morning with us . Until the next mission everyone, stay safe. Tim
