Last night brought us to Plumstead, some of us running by the river, others walking and meeting us at the location for our glamorous task of litter picking a particularly grotty spot. Good deeds definitely earned for this one! Thankfully the rain held off and we busily collected a whopping 28 bags of bottles, wrappers, and oddly some hair? It's surely Incredibles what 11 commited GoodGymers can achieve in a short space of time - great work everyone.
A huge welcome back to Kevin, who has already smashed FOUR tasks since joining last week 👏 and big cheers to Hope on your second GGG group run, great to have you with us again!

How many Goodgymers does it take to pick litter in Charlton on a Sunday morning? Eight, apparently.
Armed with our litter pickers we tackled both sides of Anchor and Hope Lane, rescuing rubbish from bushes, hedges and pavements alike. By the end, bus stops along the route were proudly displaying a collection of bulging bin bags of our catch.
This week we were joined by Heather, a seasoned Goodgymer but a first-timer with Goodgym Greenwich. Welcome, Heather! Now that we’ve shown you the glamorous side of Sunday mornings in Charlton we hope to see you again soon.
And of course, no litter licking session is complete without post-task refreshments. This week we had even more reason to celebrate, as JC arrived fresh from completing his 200th task. A great milestone. Big congratulations, JC!

10 goodgym-ers met for tonight's task at Woolwich Crossrail, and after a hop, skip, & an ice-breaker discussing favourite toys, made our way uphill to one of our regular venues, Dee's Childcare. We'd hedged our bets on what tasks awaited us, often presented with garden toy-making adventures of our own at this nursery with a fantastic outdoor space.
Once there, while one group got on with weeding the crop- growing beds in the back garden, team Hedge embraced their inner beauticians, clipping away at a massive hedge growing on on side of the front driveway which had become overgrown & blocking the natural light to the front of the building. Defoliage-ation indeed!
Bags & green bins full of greenery for recycling, we all finished the task in a much better Hedge space.
Welcome to GoodGym Greenwich to Hope and Kevin! Thanks all & see you soon 😊

Yesterday GoodGym Bexley and GoodGym Greenwich helped out at Mama2Mama's Baby Bank where the task was to empty a storage unit ready for their big move to a new premisis. It was absolutely packed to the brim and showed some top level organising from the tiny team who run the bank!
We had to keep calm and crate on and formed assembly lines to organise what needed to be kept aside for the delivery drivers and what could stay put for now. And what an amazing array of lovely items, ranging from clothes, cots, beds and stock for the new cafe in Woolwich which we're looking forward to visiting in the summer! An hour and a half later we'd got most of the stock sorted and back in again.
Great job team- we certainly showed we can think inside the box.
That's a wrap.

There was soooo much woodchip. Westcombe Woodlands work us hard and certainly help us put the gym in Good Gym and this month was no exception.
7 Good Gymers arrived at the woods to be met by not just one but two gigantic piles of woodchip. Being the efficient team that we are we split into two groups with Bea, Cecilia and Marta shovelling the chips into containers for Ivar, Julian, Kerry and Mayuri to carry up the hill to replenish the paths.
After an hour or so the volunteers were amazed that we’d managed to completely clear one of the giant piles and to replenish a huge length of pathway. All the was remained was to enjoy a well-earned cup of tea.

6 GoodGym-ers gathered at Maryon Park Community Garden on this gloriously sunny May morning for today's task.
After a quick catch up, Tim & Edna briefed us on our tasks for the day: (syca) more weeding, in various areas around the garden, "turning" the contents of one of the compost bins, and pruning away some plant overgrowth affecting the fences on one the side of the area.
Shovels, Spades, gloves and hedge trimmers at the ready, we got to work & with the encouragement of a family of red red Robins bobbing along.
A constructive hour or so passed, several trugs of weeds were added to the newly turned, rather fragrant compost bin, and we were rewarded with a very welcome tea break ☕️
Thanks all & have a great rest of the weekend!
