Roberta and Steph Ducat on to the cleaning shift, joined by a new comer to Goodgym but not unknown as it was Jacquie from Lager Can who we volunteer on other tasks in Ealing. Then we have another fairy 🧚‍♂️ who came along and who has been alone on some tasks at ESK : The Fairies 🧚‍♀️ Emmanuella the whole space with other volunteers and we all left with a spotless Church crypt. The cleaning Fairies exist ..today they were wearing Goodgym tops.

Robertaand Steph Ducat stayed on at the HUB. Roberta went to help serving food in the busy dining area. Steph served food with Mary and Marcy to hungry guests. On the menu today was a bolognese pasta with some extra secret ingredients in the sauce. Vegetarian option for the pasta. As we had some sweet potatoes and coriander as side salad was dished up to go with the pasta dishes. Desserts : popular apple struddle with home made custard. As it was birthdays for 3 of the volunteers there was also extra cakes available(chocolate and a sponge cake). Not to forget some home made cupcakes from one of the volunteers. The guests lived the food 🙌🙌

Sunng Friday Hub : Roberta and Steph Ducat joined forces at ESK. Steph was assigned to the kitchen and Roberta was going to enjoy a new task she hasn't done before. Yes Roberta was at the games and was the Bingo star today. In the kitchen, chopping vegetables, cooking meat pasta, and desserts 🍨

The Good Friday lunch at the Ealing Soup Kitchen didn't include any starters but it had early finishers. The meal ended before 3pm, and with the last of the clients served, the volunteers were offered food too. Steph, who prepared food in the kitchen, secured some fish, which was in high demand, for our gang.

Steph, along with the other ESK regulars, went ahead with the cleaning and wiped all the surfaces in the kitchen that were not going to be used anymore. The tables in the dining area started slowly disappearing and soon Henry the Hoover got on the floor.

Roberta, who didn't plan staying till the last shift, ended up being the first one to take out the rubbish and mop the floor. Kash went to the bins with the recycling waste and enjoyed destroying and compressing the cardboard boxes.

The special Easter ESK edition was wrapped up before 3pm and ended on a sweet note. The volunteers were treated to home baked cupcakes, leftover cake and surplus chocolate Easter Eggs. They will definitely have a sweet Easter time!
