Itll be all white on the night

Norwich Report written by Bobby B

As the night started to draw in on mondays a gaggle of goodgymmers met at the forum for an inspirational warm up. 6 runners ram north uphill to Mousehold 35th sea scouts.

We met the organisers who had prepared for us to paint the interior of the hut. The difficult second coat!! Steven gamely volunteered to go up the scaffolding structure. The rest of us armed with rollers got to work quickly painting and cleaning areas !

Jenny J with dpggy in tow and Sarah helped the scout leaders prepare the upcycled tyres outside the hut. Also tidying and weeding! Great job ladies

In no time at all we managed to achieve the task and we hoped we improved the community space for the scouts and other users

45 minutes later we charged back out into the good night. Back to the forum to complete our run and enjoy the rest of our evening.

well done everyone x

Forking Tomatoes

Norwich Report written by Steven Hitcham

We returned to Milton Close for a 2nd week, to help them prep for their new wild flower garden. In 2 sessions we have made a real difference while filling over 30 bags of green waste.

Congratulation to Sam for completing her 25th good deed!

Rake it to make it

Norwich Report written by Ian Gostling

Tonight 7 Goodgymers ran 3km to help support a new community space - Milton Close Wildlife Garden.

It was our first time here, at the start of a new project which is really exciting.

The task was clearing weeds and shrubs that were largely overgrown, to make space for a perennial meadow and a wild flower meadow.

We worked as quickly as we could to fill 7 bags while the night was getting darker.

The next steps for this space will be a planting a selection of bulbs - bluebells, tulips, daffodils, crocuses, grape hyacinth and camassia amongst others.

And we will be back next week to continue the preparation for this!

Run Norwich prequel

Norwich Report written by Elizabeth H

A full quota of marshals can only mean one thing, a race tomorrow! Yes after 2 years (Covid restrictions) Run Norwich is back. 228 people joined us at Parkrun today, a few tourists, 3 first timers to Parkrun, and we had 8 people joining Parkwalk. Our very own Goodgymer Alina wore the Blue Hi Viz of Parkwalk whilst Ralph & Roisin marshalled out on the course as did I. It was nice being last marshal on the course as my shouts of well done nearly there were TRUE. The weather was kind to us, warm, blue sky’s & a very gentle breeze. Well done everyone

Layer Up

Norwich Report written by Elizabeth H

A dry, windy, bright morning dawned, hurrah it was raining heavy last week. You did, however, as a Marshall , needed many layers, don’t be fooled! 252 people turned out to walk/run/jog around Catton Park. Alina, Roisin, Maddy and Bobby flew the Goodgym running flag today whilst Ralph and I were Volunteering. Afterwards the sun came out and I took my coat off to queue up for my well earned coffee Also today there was a cake stall raising funds for 3 young Scouts to attend world scout jamboree in Asia, they raised approximately £150, good luck guys & well done Parkrunners for supporting this good cause
