Ralph completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Ralph was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Can(oe) find the bike?

Sun 26 Sep
Report written by Elizabeth H

We welcomed Ralf on his first Goodgym Mission, and his partner Maddie on her 3rd but first in a Goodgym Red T shirt. Ian was attending with his own 🛶 but unfortunately it had a puncture. Dave and his family were in a canoe already and was lucky to photobomb the interview of the organisers of this River Clean by ITV Anglia. Susanna arrived by cycle with her children, I arrived on foot on my own 🥲 After all signing in, and collect bin bags and litter pickers we were divided into groups and off we went . We managed to collect a bag of rubbish and as Ian & I walked back we spotted Maddie & Ralf in one of the Canoes and they were near the bank having spotted a bike in the river, another group member on the bank pulled it out. Great spot, Ian and my best find a nappy 🙈 on returning to the finish the bin bag heap included the bike and a very dirty backpack, loads of traffic cones. After an hour and a half some of us left for home, others stayed longer. Another task well done. And we made the local evening news 📰

River Wensum clean up

Sun 26 Sep 11:00 am
Pull's Ferry, NORWICH, NR2 3JF
Make our efforts more effective and broaden participation

We're marking World Rivers Day again this year with a city centre river clean-up on Sunday 26th September.

Message from Pete: The key information is: 1. Starts at 11:00 runs until 1:00 along the river in Norwich city centre. Runners can join in for all or part of that. Everybody welcome. 2. Runners who want to take part need to contact me and register beforehand (plasticpeter@verrotech.com) Regretfully you can't just turn up and register on the day. 3. We'll be working on the river banks but there are a few places available in canoes for experienced canoeists only. These will be allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis to work on the river collecting up rubbish. Again, if interested you need to contact me. 4. We provide gloves, pickers and a hand-cleansing station.

Meeting point is Pull's Ferry, Norwich, NR2 3JF.
