Tonight 8 GoodGymer's ran 4km to Edmund Bacon Court.
The local residents had been donated a number of herbs including Lavender, Rosemary and other plants, Azalea, Hydrangeas, Geraniums and Salvias.
So we began our first task, weeding the borders and collecting any unwanted bulbs to be dried out. Then came the digging, checking the holes were the correct depth and pouring in water before bedding in the new plants.
The residents were delighted with our efforts and even supplied tea & biscuits!
We look forward to seeing this grow when return later in the year.

A storming morning of sunshine today as we returned to Valpy Avenue allotments for another round of bramble clearing.
Releasing another plot for use from the grasp of Skynet’s brambles. A chainsaw was even used by one of the extra volunteers supporting GoodGym to get the hardest bits of bramble cleared.
Fun was had and ground was cleared. Afterwards everyone celebrated with a picnic featuring some refreshing watermelon slices! Task to be continued...

A delightful afternoon spent clearing the first half of Mr D's garden. It was full of weeds on both sides and took some serious attacking to get clear. A whole industrial bag full.
Mr D. was initially quite quiet but by the end came out and had a good chat with me, I think the garden clearing really helped him feel more relaxed, he was straight on the phone as I left telling people about how he could access his shed now.

A nice task in the sun trimming back a wild privet at the edge of Mrs. A’s garden.
Mrs A was delighted with the result and it took nearly two garden bins to fit the cuttings in.
For the benefit of the pun the privet has been named Ryan
