A One Piece Sweat-ee

Norwich Report written by Woody

We arrived in good time for Mr. D's sofa move and were delighted to find the replacement chair had been taken into the flat already, so we were only focussing on taking the old one away. It was an incredibly hot day and the work was massively sweat inducing.

The chair wasn't too heavy and we managed to get it down the stairs fairly easily, parking it next to the building's bins for collection. We then moved the much much heavier replacement chair into position and we were on our way.

Mr and Mrs D were incredibly happy with the results!

Five Leaves Left

Norwich Report written by Woody

It was a short trip to Mr J's house for this task, but in really intense heat.

Mr J had trouble with lots of leaves blowing in from the outside into his porch, with him unable to vacuum as much as he'd like. The leaves from the oak nearby had been doing some shedding due to the hear. I got stuck in with a broom, dustpan and brush and cleared as much of an area as possible around his main door, this helped him massively and he was really grateful, by the time I left there were not many leaves left to blow in at all!

Total Eclipse of the Art

Norwich Report written by Woody

A return to the garden of Miss N, to carry on clearing her garden and this time, to focus on retrieving the art ornaments that have been buried by the Periwinkle. We cleared loads, with Jax making extra effort in lugging the cuttings to the top of the garden.

Load and loads of ornaments came out of the garden, some which have not been seen for years!

Washing Machines Live Longer With Thorns Gone!

Norwich Report written by Woody

This was a fun task cutting back a challenging hedge that was stopping Mr. S's new washing machine from being delivered.

The hedge was very thorny and we hacked away at it with our secateurs until the path way had been restored, with thorns sticking into our trainers as we went.

We made good progress and Jax did a great job of sweeping up the thorns and getting them into a conical shaped bin store outside the front so the bits of hedge could die down before being moved on later.

What an awesome mission - nice work. A great example of how one task can unlock something else for an older neighbour!

Scooper-califragilisticexpialidocious!

Norwich Report written by Ian Gostling

We ventured to a different part of the globe tonight - our first task at Globe Place in Norwich.

8 GoodGymer's walked and cycled to an area in the housing estate that had become very overgrown. Stephen, Sharon & Dawn from LTC Green Spacesmet us with a list of tasks and lots of tools.

We spread out into 2 areas, lopping, chopping, sweeping & scooping, filling wheelbarrows and trugs full of dried branches & weeds. The wheelbarrows were then taken to nearby Somerleyton Gardens (another popular GG task venue) where they will be used as mulch for some large raised beds.

Whilst this was all happening, Rose wandered back and forth carrying watering cans around the site giving everything a good soak... that was a lot of steps well done!

Shout out to Beth for attending her first session! An hour flew by and the difference we made was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Thanks Woody for tonights pun!

Odd Jobs on a Sunday

Norwich Report written by Woody

It was a pleasant run to Ms I's house for some gardening tasks.

When I arrived I was asked to do lots of little odd jobs around the garden, such as dead heading roses and lavender and trimming various hedges. I also tried to help get some trailing plants cut back that were hanging down into Ms I's garden.

All in all a pleasant morning and Ms I was very happy with the results.
