Despite the heat 5 of us helped to rescue some of the thirsty plants at Holgate Community Garden which had been struggling with the heat. Becca, Libby, Ellie and Laura cleared as many of the dead plants out of the beds as possible so it was clearer what needed watering. David went to and fro with the wheelbarrow filling up watering cans and buckets to water as many of the more fragile surviving plants as possible. It was hot!

4.15 rendezvous @ museum gardens main gate opted for scanning in punters Hmm @ my 1st ever go I unsuccessfully tried to use wrong end of scanner, D'OH but in 5min i was quite proficient @ this simple task. The day was a sell out so we worked like dogs getting crowd in pausing only for the unalloyed joy of people trying to get glass perfume btls thru security & having to leave a 100ml of Jimmy Choo in the dirt (play stupid games win stupid prizes) Ahem madam your ticket please, OMD were by far the standout act for me with many bands appearing to be tribute acts of themselves but a fun day was had 😁

Seven select York GGers and 2 dogs listened to & actually followed the Organisers instructions. We welcomed newcomer Libby who set too with gusto with team gazebo. Amazing effort on a not so lazy Sunday morning. 1 large & 3 regular gazebos were speedily erected, whilst many chairs and tables and water weights were carried & barrowed across the park. The organisers were delighted at our efficiency in helping get the park ready for the annual fayre. Thankyou everyone.

We met in museum gardens in slightly damp conditions to help set up for the art and health Mela tomorrow.
Our main job was to erect many gazebos!
We'll be back tomorrow morning to help with moving tables, then goodgym will be at a stall all day
