Headtorch Group Run- The Highgate Claw!

Our popular Headtorch Group Run series comes to an end as Spring begins, and the evenings get lighter.
So we have decided to attempt an awesome North London hill running challenge for our last Winter outing!
"The Claw" is a series of 5 significant slopes, connected together from Highgate Village (Highgate Hill, Dartmouth Park Hill, Swain's Lane, Highgate Hill West and Fitzroy Park).
These are some serious ups and downs, but we plan to use the Prince of Wales Pub as our starting point, finishing line and gather up location after each hill.
Join us for the full 5 hill challenge, or try as many as you can before chilling out at the finishing line!

You can't spell TRAINING without RAINING
On a lovely mild Sunday morning, our intrepid Goodgymmers from North, West, South and East London gathered together at Victoria Park track for our monthly Track Attack Time Trial session.
Matthew, Harvey, Emily, Jacqui, John, Jo and James lined up for the 5km time trial (aka 12.5 laps of our 400m track), while Latoya and Simon took on time keeping and photography duties. Really solid running on display by our crew- super consistency over the longer endurance distance too. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the showdown between Harvey and Matthew, and observing some racing manoeuvres at play!
As the rain started to fall, Latoya, Simon, Matt and Harvey set off for their 1 mile (4 lap) attempts. Some really impressive performances on display, including Latoya putting in the most exceptional final 200m sprint of the morning! Awesome running!
Following a hard session, we treated ourselves to coffee and breakfast at the Park Café across the way, to celebrate our achievements. What a top way to start a Sunday morning!
