We will get the photo by Jane’s passage

Chelmsford Report written by David Chatterjee

Jesus it was basically a one person show. Walker arrived separately to the runners, and did an insane amount while everyone else tidied in the wake of the good work.

Obviously i am talking about Jane, not Rich who showed up late with his most flattering lycra. Jane was a one woman shearing army, not seen such devastation with shears since Andy took his last haircut. Ben made picking up piles of thorns look very easy, great commitment to the cause.

They were very impressed with the job we did on a hot day, shoutout to Sallyann who had to endure me somehow hitting her constantly with a rake.

On the way back we stopped for a brief ice cream break, Leanne stopping the dithering men by shouting SOLERO at the freezer.

I am excited for next week - task and beer fest - but not as excited as Russell is for Binface to hopefully win the by-election.

Just a one Cornetto... Washing windows in Beaulieu.

Chelmsford Report written by Rich Walker

5 of us met at HQ ready to run up to Beaulieu Community Centre to wash their windows on a glorious summers eve. A big welcome back to Mike after returning from a suspected sprained ankle and ready to test it out on a 3.5km run out.

We ran up to Beaulieu with a few walks along the way as it was getting rather warm and we met Fay and Sallyann already hard at work. As everyone was hard at work and in need of a cool down from the heat, I popped into the local Sainsbury's and lucky found one of the last packs of Cornettos still in their freezer.

With windows cleaned, and buckets and flannels rinsed and tidied away we set off back to HQ. maybe it was the tail wind. maybe it was mostly downhill, but i think it was the cornetto that put a spring in our step and whisked us back soon than we thought.

Thanks for coming everyone, next week David will be leading a run to a local free library where we will be donating some books. ( bring any books you wish to carry and run with )

Until next time...

RUN HAPPY

Mike & Perry Go Large

Chelmsford Report written by David Chatterjee

So at the top of where I right this it says 'Tell us how you got on'. Hmmm...

We got on great! Traffic held up a couple of folk on the way and then two Dunmow athletes, Nick and David, showed up having seen us online! Mike was slightly concerned we were leafletting for tomorrow's election (don't forget to go out and vote) but of course not! For a variety of charities: Farleigh Hospice, Helen Rollason, City Sounds Radio, Age Concern, Beaulieu Community centre, and CVS.

We set off chatting to meet Fay, fresh from a weekend out in Peckham, who had the leaflets. It was only then I noticed Andy's new shoes! Very clean. Very blue. Andy and I are part of a marathon world record (part of the largest marathon ballot ever).

After dishing out the leaflets we headed off to deliver. Nipping between houses we covered the first area. Jen is excited to replicate her husband's stag do in Amsterdam at the end of this month with him and three small children, Mike told us how he used to be a marshmallow magnate at school, and Richard almost managed to go missing. Perhaps a sign of things to come...

We headed back down the main road to find more houses. There were a lot of leaflets so we split up as I nipped to Dovedale Sports Centre. Leaving Fay in charge for two minutes while I did that, carnage ensued. Initially losing half of us, we found Nick and David who were talking house prices and doing stunning work with their leaflets.

The issue then was we couldn't find Richard and Mike anywhere. Going up and down streets and sending unsuccessful carrier pigeons we eventually saw them wearily trekking towards us. Yes! With everyone we needed back together we returned to the uni being cheered on down the high street.

On to next week when it is Broomfield allotments and we won't lose anyone!
