How you can fit running into a family life
We're delighted to be able to help our friends at the Marsha Phoenix Trust again. This week we will continue the good work started in the garden on previous tasks.
- Make your own way to the task, at 90-92 Tressillian Road (a big house set slightly back from the road, with a bright red front door)
- Take direction from Sue, who will be leading volunteers through the session
- Please observe social distancing and wear a mask as you pass through the building
- Do not share tools
- Feel free to ask for a less physically heavy task if you would prefer something else, there's plenty to do, with something for everyone!
Jacqueline and I started our weekend with a good deed! We were called over to help Mr. F after he had his wardrobe fall apart.
Jacqueline and I met outside Mr. F's home and upon calling his number, he came shuffling along to open the door. It took a while to get to where we needed to go as he took his time to shuffle along from the front door to his bedroom upstairs. Once we were up there, we realised the task was more to secure the existing open "wardrobe" rather than to build one which we thought was the case. There was also a bit of tidying and sorting to do, but after 10-15 minutes, Jacqueline and I were done and on our way to enjoy the weekend! ☺️
It would be great to see as many red t-shirts as possible along the route and in the finish area to spread the word about all the good we are doing in the borough.
There's plenty of options to choose from, including marshals, barcode scanners, finish tokens and tail walker. See what's available on the volunteering page and don't forget to sign up here
Don't forget about the post-Parkrun coffee at the cafe in the park!
Molly (my dog) will also be in attendance in her GoodGym bandana
