Despite the wind and rain, two brave souls from GoodGym Leeds headed out to litter pick alongside Litter Free Leeds.

Anna and Gemma worked together, armed with litter pickers, to fill purple bags. Although the rain made the collection more of a challenge, the GoodGym gals collected a lot of litter, including crisp packets from 2011! Their work helped to make the streets a little bit more litter free - which is always a good thing.

GoodGym Leeds will be out with litter pickers again next week, when they head to West Park to do some evening plogging. It would be great to see you there!

Bright and early on Sunday morning, 6 GoodGym Leeds members made their way over to the First Direct Arena to help with baggage collection and storage for the Run for All Leeds Half Marathon. The morning started at 7:45 with a briefing, followed by a few hours of bag collection, sorting and redistribution.

The GoodGym members worked with other volunteers to collect the bags. Damu supported a team of other volunteers on one truck, with Robert and Gemma working with two other volunteers to store bags for runners, and Helen, Anna and Khara working together on another truck to collect and store bags.

It was brilliant to be able to offer support to keep the event moving. Well done to everyone - especially as it was a very early start! A big cheer goes out to Khara who made her GoodGym debut!

On this sunny Saturday morning, 5 GoodGym runners made their way on foot or bike to the Broadlea Community Centre to undertake some decorating.

Sanding, priming and painting their way around the centre, Damu, Jenny, Helen, Gemma and Anna helped to freshen up the space, ready for community members to use the centre for a range of activites.

Due to the graffiti art being so colourful, we had to prime the walls and allow that paint to dry. So, we are heading back to the Broadlea centre next weekend to finish off the painting job.
