In the midst of storm Ciara, I met up with Anne to both hold onto our hats and to do a mission in Hackney for Ms K.

Ms K is currently in hospital and needs space made in her home for a hospital bed to be installed to be released home. GoodGym were asked if we could help with this.

As Ms K is in hospital, her neighbour of 30+ years, Mrs S, let us in. Mrs S was completely au fait with what needed to be done, so we ran past our instructions with her to make sure that we were all on the same page before starting.

In short, we'd been asked to move one of two beds currently in Ms K's bedroom into a spare room along with a bedside cabinet, while simply moving the other bed across the room to be closer to a fitted wardrobe.

EVERYTHING, and I cannot stress this enough, WENT COMPLETELY SMOOTHLY!!

It's not that it's unknown for everything to go smoothly, but I can't deny that it always feels a little magical when it does. In the present case: everything was light to carry, the doorways and corridors were wide, there were no stairs or awkward angles to navigate, and there were no pesky fastenings to fuss over (with or without tools). Ignoring the moments before Anne took over folding the bedclothes (because it turns out we fold in different dimensional spaces, include an Anne-fold space), the dreamlike nature of the task made us a bit suspicious. I fully expect to get home to find that my fig trees have been ravaged by the storm and so are no longer quite so peaceful, but feel like that's ok 😄😎👍🏻

Anyway, furniture moved, we made our goodbyes to Ms S, but held off from saying goodbye to each other as we mosied on over to join GoodGym Islington in helping Ramsey Flowers (I only had to hold on to Anne's backpack once or twice to stop her from floating off 😂).

Until next time, Anne! 😎👍🏻
