What A Thyme To Be Alive

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Oxford.

On a sunny Sunday morning, we set off along the familiar streets of Oxford - meeting our mission-eager recipients at 10:00 on the dot, having (accidentally) perfectly timed our journey. We were led through the winding hallways (making a four-legged friend on the way) to the site of our mission: a somewhat overgrown garden. Weeds were the name of the game...mostly because our lack of botanical knowledge meant we didn't know what else to call them.

We set to work, clearing creeping green from gravel and pruning over-reaching branches back into place - with a much-appreciated tea break half an hour in, to admire our work. By 11:00 we emerged victorious; having beaten the weeds back (despite the odd thorny scratch). Thank-yous and doggy pats were exchanged, and we set back out on to the streets. Today, we win: but there will always be more weeds. Our next mission awaits....
