Just short of a year since our last mission together (mission number 15 - 😎), I met up with the awesome Bryon for a mission in Islington for Ms L (mission number 143 - 😎). Although we've met at a couple of other GoodGym things since that first mission (including the Olympics! Woot!! 🎉), it's not always possible to have a decent catch-up. One of the reasons why I do gardening missions is because they're very conducive to leisurely chat: I was definitely looking forward to one of these today 😄

Ms L has mobility issues and has found that her garden has become more difficult to manage as her mobility has decreased. Although her garden has been set up for minimal maintenance (think patio!), it still occasionally becomes overgrown. GoodGym were asked if we could help by de-weeding her patio.

After a brief attempt by Bryon to scare me by jumping into my path from a turn in the road (I didn't even flinch - like a true red shirt in Star Trek, I am destined to die first 😬), we gave Ms L a quick ring so she could let us in.

Both Bryon and I were happy to see that although the garden contained numerous weeds, they looked easy to pull up. This, combined with the Goldilocks weather, meant that Bryon and I could spend a pleasant hour or so chatting about a variety of topics. These included: my (obvious) love of missions, imminent holidays (we're both going away in September), and my new favourite question: "Which GoodGymmer(s) have had the biggest impact(s) on you and why?"

With the conversation flowing, the time passed equally quickly, and only an hour or so after starting, we were ready to pack up and leave!

Lovely seeing you again, Bryon. Hope the protest goes smoothly and that it won't be so long until the next time 😄🍀

Great before and after shots. Outstanding work - not a weed in sight!

Wow! Amazing job! The patio looks so much better (also love the cheeky star trek reference).
