Twas the last run before Christmas and all through Hope Street, the dulcet tones of GoodGymers rang out. Not a creature was stirring, just 19 runners warming up!

What a year we've had here at GoodGym Liverpool! In 2019, we've clocked 1,145 good deeds (so far, it's only 17 December!) with 122 runners getting involved at least once. An amazing 10 people have joined the black t-shirt crew after completing 50 good deeds each. And 2 have reached the 100 club. We had a visit from GoodGym Lambeth and are already making plans with GoodGym Cardiff for 2020. All in all, it has been a belter and we finished on a high with a final trip to the Greenhouse Project.

After a 12 Days of Christmas themed warm-up (Tim especially loved it!), we ran the 2km to the Greenhouse Project, a multicultural children's centre in Toxteth. Our task was to wrap a huge heap of presents and selection boxes. For some of the children, this might be the only present they get this Christmas, so it felt like an important task. The team spread out into different groups, rocking different wrapping styles. And within 30 minutes 72 gifts had been covered. Wowwweee!

A big shout out to not one but two boss runners clocking their 50th good deeds tonight - well done Rowan and Sophie - you're both amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing you in your black tees soon. Also a big hello and welcome to newbie Harriet, who got involved in a rather unconventional week for us but took it in her stride, with a smile. Do run with us again soon :)

After the task, the fitness session was replaced with a game of tig (or stuck in the mud) which as well as being a fun way to end to the year, is a remarkably good way to get your heart beat up really fast!

On the run back to base, folks were pealing off left, right and centre, needing to get home early with busy weeks ahead of them. So I didn't get chance to say a HUGE thank you to everyone. Not just for another great Group Run, but for a fantastic year. While I deffo need two weeks off, you lot are the reason I happily keep going 50 weeks of the year. Your dedication and good cheer is what this is all about, so thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone. We'll be back to Group Runs from Monday 6 January but there are Community Missions listed ahead of then, as it's January Challenge time. Sign-up now to see how many good deeds you can clock in January 2020 and don't forget to connect your Strava to your GG account. Let's do this!

Big festive love, Char <3
