Kash and Sevan emerged in Caledonian Road in search of a thorny beast whose legend was known across the land. Previous attempts to slay it hadn't been successful, so Ms S had called in GoodGym to mediate. The beast had been told that GoodGym would tend to its needs of food and water.

In reality, the GoodGym t-shirts were only a disguise for two mercenraies to sneak into Ms S' garden. After years of trying to take the giant bramble down, Ms S had to resort to a different tactic. The benign appearance of the GoodGymers gave them the element of surprise to vanquish the vicious plant. When Kash and Sevan arrived, things were worse than they feared. There were vines all around protecting the bramble, waiting to grab hold and trip them up.

Both of our protagonists had to tread carefully. The tools they were given, secateurs and a lopper, were made for precision slicing, not slashing back. They carefully chose when to strike, Kash chopping at the vines on the side fence while Sevan tried to open a path to the route of the thorns. Everything was tangled together, so even when branch was cut, it stubbornly stayed part of the whole.

Kash and Sevan adapted their strategy as they went. Branch by branch, they reduced the bramble and step by step, they got closer to it's root. Finally, Sevan could reach behind the shed with the long armed loppers and cut through some of the trunks of the bramble. A critical blow, but not yet enough to be fatal.

With time running out, Kash and Sevan looked at the cuttings woven together behind them and realised that they needed to remove those from the garden. They didn't want the beast to reintegrate with the branches and regain its power. The focus changed to snipping and sealing them off, so 7 bags were filled and extracted from the scene.

The fabled bramble has been weakened. Next time, a new approach will be needed to kill it off completely.
