Report written by Sevan
3 treenappers met at Cleveland Park, looking to grab a prize spruce. Kash and Sevan had brought snoods and hats to hide their appearance from the video doorbells scattered around the streets, while Madhan was bold enough to walk the streets of Ealing unmasked.
They headed to the area they'd originally planned to hit, only to find fresh fir needles and bits of branches decorating the pavements 🤔 Maybe the council collection had already been 🤦. Nevertheless, they kept scoping out the streets to identify any trees that they could whisk away, and found a few at the edge of driveways that they could easily run off with.
As the trio walked further and into a new group of streets, they suddenly found big firs waiting patiently on the pavements. So big that Madhan could spot them from the opposite end of the road. Here, they'd struck the jackpot! A green-brown, slightly smelly jackpot 🎄.
The 11 trees in total that the group found were quickly disappeared and stashed in Cleveland Park. The tree collection points there were already piled high, so inventive methods of adding to them were needed. Different tree flinging methods were tried out and Kash decided to work around the pile by launching them over the fence into the empty space behind.
At the end of the task, they could hear distant sirens 🚨. To them this was a warning to disperse in different directions and lie low, hoping not to be found. They'll be back next year, when the next batch of spruce gold will be ripe for the napping.
