During this showery month of May it seems that the only dead cert for a dry spell is early on a Sunday morning. Yet again, the sun shone and the skies were blue as the junior park runners assembled in the glorious gardens of Temple Newsam for the 2km dash.

Good Gymmers Katie, Helen and Anne were warmly welcomed by the Race Director and Park Run volunteers who were very interested to hear about the work of Good Gym Leeds and expressed a keen desire in continuing the connection with Temple Newsam Park Run.

Katie and Helen assumed the great responsibility of recording barcodes and times whilst Anne played to her non- technical marshalling skills. All of us cheered on the runners with gusto - and were super impressed by the enthusiasm and energy of the participants. A great morning in a beautiful setting; definitely worth getting out of bed for!

We are a small charity with limited resources, so jobs like this often fall by the wayside. It helps us to continue to focus on our core work, but also with compost, it means we can have less inputs and save money
