The sweet scent of Eau De Himalayan Balsam

GoodGym teamed up with Sustrans volunteers for some Thursday therapy - also known as balsam bashing. For those who don't know, Himalayan Balsam is an invasive species destroying our river beds and disrupting our habitats. It is a seemingly never ending task but one that is mightily therapeutic.

In one short hour we managed to bash the balsam overtaking the riverside path, clearing the way for the many cyclists, runners and walkers using the path. In some areas the Balsam had reached great heights but this didn't scare us away and soon we got to work creating a huge pile of bashed Balsam.
