Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by StephDucat
1 - 2 - 3 : not only was it 3 Goodgymers but 3rd mission of the day for Kash, Sevan and Steph Ducat After lunch together, the 3 runners ran to Ms Y, who we already know and had several missions as helped her pack and do some decluttering in her previous flat, but also start unboxing in the new flat. Before going in, we all put our masks or covers as Ms Y has breathing issues. The 3 masked goodgymers were welcomed by Ms Y who had a 1st problem to solve in the bathroom, as her sink was full of water and she could not empty it, so Steph the plumber stepped up and was able to get the stuck sink plug up and the water was flowing again. Once sorted we were asked to find if possible a black router with a SIM card...somewhere in the house. The hunt started, but no treasure found, so the team started to tidy and unpack boxes. Sevan and Steph started in the lounge plus kitchen, whilst Kash was in the bedroom. Kash unpacked 3 boxes, organised underwear, makeup and perfumes, and made space by putting two plastic storage units in the cupboard. She convinced Ms Y to try to donate the dozens of single-use combs she had taken from hotels to the Soup Kitchen. Sevan and Steph went through the cupboards in both the lounge and kitchen to make space and tidy then unboxed. Steph was back in the kitchen, not the Ealing Soup Kitchen but Ms Y kitchen. Space was made and all the kitchen boxes were empty, but also sorted in a way that it was accessible for Ms Y. The cherry on top of the cake was the installation of the rice cooker, so Ms Y would be able to cook rice again at home. Sevan was going IT and electronic items...how many remotes do you need? We stopped counting the number of remotes. He also found Greta Thunberg : not in person, but one of her books. We also stumbled on more umbrellas : was this the sequel of the 2nd mission of the making of the Umbrella Academy ? At the end, 8 boxes were emptied, items relocated in the new flat, with some items going out to other charities and a few bags of rubbish made their way out of the flat. Decluttering while unpacking and packing until the next session as still some work at Ms Y flat.
