Sunshine, broken pots and overgrowth

It was a lovely day to join Mr A in his garden for some much needed tidying up. Mr A's dad had enjoyed gardening, and it was hard for Mr A to face alone, but GoodGym were there to help him out.

We started moving out the bits that were clearly broken and built from there, lots of old tennis balls and footballs, broken plant pots and even an old keyboard. Once the rubbish was out we started clearing the weeds. Mr A's dad had planted a rose bush over 30 years ago, and Mr A wanted it to be able to take centre stage again. Mr A wanted to help so he bagged up the weeds that were removed and spoke about how the rose bush had travelled from their first house to this one.

Amongst the weeds we even found a deck chair that was more weed than chair!

It was a great task, enjoyed in the sunshine and it made a real difference to Mr A's garden. He is now able to re-paint his walls, plant some bright flowers and make a proper space to remember his past pets.
