On an extremely windy and wet evening, 4 runners met outside a pub. Unfortunately the pub was closed and the country still in lockdown. There was however something else to do and that was to distribute postcards within the Silver Triangle! Elizabeth arrived first followed by Jonathan, Andy and then Steve. Steve handed out the postcards with the three runners headed off together to tackle two long roads, socially distanced. Steve stayed outside the pub, in case new runner Johanna should arrive later. Unfortunately she did not (with the weather as bad as it was it is understandable) but we hope to see Johanna at a Goodgym session soon! Steve did get to use the time well, running a few laps around the area.

From the off, Elizabeth tackled one side of Beaconsfield Road whilst Jonathan and Andy, perfectly synchronised, tackled the other. With that street completed, tactics were discussed to tackle the next street, Marlboro Road. This time one side was to be tackled as a three, posting in socially distanced hi-vis harmony similar to synchronised swimmers. It was a sight to behold! Maybe posting should be an Olympic Sport.

Conversation soon turned to current news, that of Harry, Megan and Piers. Unfortunately none of them came out with much positive discussion! Alan Partridge and Alpha Papa also got a notable mention. With the wind quite strong, Andy wondered if the storm had a name - with current news, perhaps Storm Megan and Harry would be appropriate!

For the final stretch, tactics were mixed up again with Jonathan and Elizabeth posting one side and Andy the other, somehow finishing at the same time. A photo finish may have been needed to decide who finished first.

With the local fruit and vegetable shop glowing orange in the distance, one final selfie was taken before meeting up outside the pub again where Steve had just finished another lap of running around the area. There was time to discuss Megan and Harry again, before we each headed off on our way home after another successful postcard mission.
