Last night about 19 hardy runners arrived in the dark at York Hall - we set out to complete phase two of an ambitious roof-top planting plan at Chisenhale school.  We headed West along the canal towards the East end of Victoria park before making the turn off to Chisenhale road.  Once there we were met by trusty caretaker Ambrose and parent engagement person Ruth - Harriet suggested we use her chain approach to lugging  the heavy sacks of rubble and earth to the top of the building.  This was implemented surprisingly quickly and it took as about 18.52 minutes to get all 60 of the sacks to the roof. For the way back we ran through Mile End park taking a look at their oyster-style swipey points and nice variety of humps. Another group, interested in speed, took a beeline for the changing rooms beating the others  back to York Hall by approximately 8 minutes. While we were preparing for our run Zoe Williams was unwittingly supporting our cause - writing an expose of bad gyms in the Guardian.Next group run is Valentine's day - any ideas for a romantic run?
