A variety of tasks undertaken at A Thursday morning volunteer shift at City Harvest’s food redistribution warehouse In Acton Central were made much more enjoyable thanks to a barbecue lunch and live music.

One task involved pouring away hundreds of pints of milk that was too old to be crated and redistributed. We weren’t exactly feeding it back to cows but it seemed to be rather the opposite of milking. Some was spilt but there were no tears, just a bit of gloom over the waste.
