St Patrick's Day is traditionally a big party night in Liverpool, and this year, despite COVID-19 restrictions, an estimated thousand or more people chose to congregate illegally in Sefton Park, making one heck of a mess in the process. I took the opportunity the day after, while on a walk with my dog, to litter-pick some of the empties. The wonderful Friends of Sefton Park group had already done the main area that was affected, so I stuck to the peripheries but even so, I still quickly filled two bags. I also made a new friend, Pippa the Collie, who kept bringing me her tennis ball to throw, thinking that my litter-picker was a ball-throwing stick! Sorry Pippa!
