Rolling, rolling, rolling! Keep rolling, rolling rolling! Not a Limp Bizcuit fan?

Well, you're clearly a fan of a great little run, a spot of Spring-mas cleaning, and a sucker for some outdoor exercise in Queens Square.

20 of us met up at The Folk House (usual meeting place on a Tuesday) and ran down to Roll for the Soul (usual meeting place on a Saturday!) to give the place a little lick of paint, a touch of varnish and a lot of TLC.

Sadly for the runners, there were more people than predicted (you naughty folk, how dare you come along for a run on a really cold December evening!) and so we had to split in to two groups. Group one grabbed brushes and paint and started to doll up the cafe, and group two braved the cold again to head to Queens Square for a nifty little workout. After 15 minutes, the groups swapped so that everyone got a chance to do some good for the cafe and also some good for their bodies (and perhaps souls too?).

As I (Pru) was not at Roll for the Soul, I cannot comment on how well the painting went - but I can say it looked good at the end! As for the Queens Square teams - fabulous effort. Given we run around a lot, several people (who will not be named as otherwise they'll get lynched on the next run) asked for upper body exercises and core work, so reversed press ups (to strengthen the upper back), normal press ups (chest, shoulders) and tricep dips (triceps, strangely enough, plus other bits of shoulders) were enjoyed by all concerned.

Back at the cafe, once the task was finished, we had a brief lull whilst Chris and Rob (owner of Roll for the Soul) hung our Green Volunteers award. As we had a bit of time, we did some squats and lunges to get those leg muscles firing up, and then admired the award in it's new home.

Time was with us and we jogged away from the cafe and headed to a small hill near the Cathedral, where some hill repeats were smashed by the group. After a good old stretch, we strolled back to our original starting point and headed home.

Peeps! Don't forget next week's Christmas drinks at the Small Bar, near the Old Vic theater. Please do come along and celebrate all the good deeds we've done in 2014.
