‘Nectariney’ Friday morning shift at City Harvest, sorting and crating fruit and veg.

Sadly, I guess because of the heat wave, there was quite a lot of mouldy soft fruit to discard including gooseberries, strawberries and nectarines.

The aroma from hundreds of ripe nectarines was wonderful but a conversation about Bellinis ( champagne and peach/nectarine purée cocktails, invented in Harry’s Bar in Venice) left me wistful as I should have been in Venice last week.
