This week 11 glorious GoodGym-ers ran 2-ish-km to paint the walls of a local youth centre and weed the front yard of a local music centre. Two tasks, two kilometres, two teams of steel.

Massive cheers to Debs for coming all the way from Bristol on a GGH daytrip!!

We quickly warmed up in front of the leisure centre (in 34ΒΊ heat) with some skipping, running and resistance relays before splitting into teams to take on the task ahead. Dave lead one group to the music centre while I lead the others to the youth centre.

The route to T-Chances is a bit on the short side, so we took a detour that went a bit wrong, and wound up including a bit of mini parkour. Despite that we somehow picked up Chi and a fan of his!

Down at the music centre we were focused on finishing off weeding the beds out front. There was some debate as to if one particular plant was a Swiss Chard/Rhubarb hybrid, but in the end it went in the compost pile with everything else. We reviewed the slow motion photos from last week, and did a quick "falling forward" drill to focus on landing under your center of gravity, before Pennie returned from Bruce Grove.

We decided to take the back way to the Bruce Grove Youth Centre, avoiding the high street, which is considerably more fun! On arrival, we were lead to our room, which Varon had very kindly cleared earlier in the day for us. With a mix of paints in the cupboard, none of which matched the existing coats on the wall, we were forced to improvise on the final coat. Chris expertly mixed our paint with his mixing stick before the gang got to work on the (hopefully) final coat for one of the sections. Francis did a great job neaten-ing up the patchy bits while Marco and Emily did the finishing touches in the corner.

We quickly cleared up and ran to meet the others at T Chances before running back to Tottenham Green for a quick fitness session, including special guest obstacle children crossing our sprint path completely unphased. They were the bravest todlers in all the land.

Lol that's strange.. the correct colour for the lighter wall was there. It was only the darker feature wall that we had a slightly darker colour for.. in the pics you can see that you guys used the lighter colour to paint the darker feature wall.. What happened P? I gave you detailed instructions πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ Still looks like you guys did a great job mind!

Lol that was the lighter wall! The darker wall was loads darker. We didn't have time to do that side, unfortunately. There was a darker pot though, so I reckon if we go back we can finish that side.
