27 runners ran 6 x 400m at pace, shifted 42 barrows of compost and still had energy for a neat 4k to finish & 5 runners completed a heroic 8k sub-mission to help out Anna in Bow.

Before the main group headed off from the Arch Gallery a splinter team of heroic ultra-runners set off on an 8km round trip to help Anna move her furniture back into the kitchen now her new floor has been fitted.

"Devised a Game"

The main group then headed to Hollybush estate for the third time in as many weeks to move even more Mulch. However, to keep things interesting, Mark had devised a game that involved seven teams of three - each with a wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow was filled, then rushed into the Hollybush garden to drop the mulch on the beds, whilst the other two runners did a 400m lap of the local park. The race was to see who could get back first.

"Frenzy"

There wasn't much room for mulching so an orderly queue formed as we all waited patiently to be handed a spade by Margaret (who'd assumed the role of commander in chief, whipping us into a mulch digging frenzy and sending us on our way). We then raced our barrows against runners and the runners mostly got back first, but a few speedy wheelers made the trip to dump their mulch and get back first in truly impressive style.

"Impressive Time"

We then split into two groups, one running directly back and the others taking a longer route via the canal to give us a 4k jog to end the night. Just as this second group got back to the Arch Gallery, the ultra long distance group arrived back - having made impressive time in far flung Bow - so we stretched together before calling it a night and heading our separate ways.
