I tried to make the title marathon related since it was the London Marathon today! But just made it GoodGym related instead...

Three GoodGymers braved the rainy weather, which wasn't letting down and was very constant, to come out and help out at McDermott Garden. A garden I didn't know existed and I have passed it several times on a GoodGym Southwark group run... Shows you my awareness skills. 🙄

Tom and the regular volunteers had a few tasks for us to do! There was the first task of taking out the old wooden stomps that were there for benches (back in the day). A harder, but quicker task than Tom thought. So, he put us to the task of laying down a brick path (Emma), scraping off paint (Sam), clearing away at the bushes, hedges (Emma) and pathways (Sam) before the final task of chopping and cutting tree branches (me).

The rain didn't dampen our spirits and we finished almost all the tasks we had set out to do. Tom and all the other regular volunteers were pleased with our work and will definitely have us back for seconds 😋

We all went off our separate ways with Sam having a massive trip back to Finsbury Park! 😳 Thanks for coming out despite the bad weather, Emma and Sam! Appreciate your help as always!
